The first day of the REUSE Jean Monnet Module International Conference, hosted by Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, was held with strong participation. The program, which brought together academics and researchers from 19 different countries, began with the opening remarks of Rector Mehmet Sarıbıyık.

In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık emphasized the growing importance of the twin transition process shaped by digitalization, circular economy, and resilient industrial ecosystems for universities and academic research. He stated that international academic collaborations contribute significantly to sustainable development goals and highlighted that the conference serves as an important platform for scientific exchange and academic interaction.

Organized under the theme “Governing the Twin Transition: Digitalization, Circular Economy and Resilient Industrial Ecosystems,” the first day of the conference featured sessions on various topics including digital transformation, circular economy, sustainable finance, smart manufacturing systems, global value chains, and green transition policies. Academics and researchers shared their studies and insights with participants, while the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of the twin transition process were discussed throughout the conference.

The conference will continue on its second day with presentations by national and international participants.
