The program titled Career in the Banking Sector, organized within the scope of the First Lecture Event by our Faculty, was held with strong participation on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in UBF B202 Classroom.

The guest of the event was Umut Şen, Branch Manager at Garanti BBVA. Şen shared valuable insights on career planning in the banking sector, key competencies sought in the industry, the impact of digital transformation on banking, and the processes involved in career advancement.

In his speech, Şen emphasized that building a successful career in the finance sector requires not only technical knowledge but also strong communication skills, analytical thinking ability, and openness to continuous development. He also shared his professional experiences with students and addressed current developments in the banking industry, highlighting the importance of setting clear career goals at an early stage.

The program continued in an interactive format with students’ questions and concluded with a note of appreciation and a commemorative presentation to the speaker.
