SUBÜ on the Path to Full Accreditation!
The YÖKAK (Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey) monitoring visit has been completed.
As part of the "Monitoring Program," the YÖKAK Monitoring Team conducted an on-site visit to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ) to review the improvements and steps taken over the past two years. Following the visit, SUBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık stated that the university is progressing on the path to full accreditation, referring to the positive feedback received from the Monitoring Team.
The Monitoring Team, appointed by YÖKAK, included Prof. Dr. Süheyda Atalay from the Faculty of Engineering at Ege University, Prof. Dr. Adem Başıbüyük from the Faculty of Science and Literature at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Ersin Akıncı from the Faculty of Agriculture at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, and Student Evaluator Asya Özdemir from Kocaeli University. The team conducted interviews and evaluations throughout the day.
SUBÜ, which also underwent an external evaluation by YÖKAK in 2021, presented the sustainability of its strengths and the improvement activities carried out since then. The Monitoring Team held separate meetings with Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık, members of the Quality Commission, Senate members, academic staff, and students. During these discussions, actions already taken and future plans regarding quality processes at SUBÜ were reviewed.
The Monitoring Team will prepare a detailed "Monitoring Report" to present their findings and recommendations to YÖKAK.
A Significant Step Forward
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sarıbıyık emphasized the importance of quality processes at SUBÜ from the very beginning of the university’s establishment:
"We have always prioritized quality processes and continuously strive for improvement. The Monitoring Team praised the progress and steps we have taken over the past two years, wished us success on the path to institutional accreditation, and acknowledged that we have accomplished even more than what was reported. We believe we have taken a significant step toward full accreditation. I sincerely thank my colleagues who contributed to this process and the Monitoring Team for their thorough evaluation."
