Within the framework of the First Lecture Event organized by our Faculty, an online event titled From Supply Chain Research to Academic Careers: Competitive Competencies for the Future in the Age of Digital Transformation was held.
The event was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bağış, a faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance at our Faculty. The guest speaker of the program was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Küçükaltan, who serves at the University of Bradford, School of Management. Dr. Küçükaltan, who also holds the position of Co-Track Chair for Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the British Academy of Management, shared valuable insights regarding his academic career journey and international academic experience. He also serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Turkish–Scottish Chamber of Commerce.
During the event, the changing structure of supply chain management in the era of digital transformation, the evolution of academic research areas, and international academic career opportunities were discussed. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Küçükaltan particularly emphasized the importance of young researchers becoming part of global academic networks and engaging in interdisciplinary research.
Throughout the program, students and academics had the opportunity to gain comprehensive insights into current trends in supply chain research, academic productivity, and the competencies required to take part in international academic platforms.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by expressions of appreciation and thanks.
