Students who were unable to attend the Make-up (Resit) Exams due to valid excuses are required to submit an online application via the BYS Application Process – Make-up (Resit) Excuse Exam Application screen, in accordance with the Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Excuse Exams will be held on 11–12 February 2026.

Pursuant to the regulations, students who were entitled to take the make-up (resit) exam but did not attend it may apply for an excuse exam provided that they have a valid excuse.

Valid Excuse Cases

a) Illness:
If a student becomes ill in a way that prevents them from attending the exam, they must apply to the relevant Department Head within three (3) working days from the exam date, together with a medical report obtained from secondary or tertiary healthcare institutions.

b) Death of a Close Relative:
In the event of the death of a first-degree relative occurring at a time that prevents the student from attending the exam (no more than 5 days before the exam), the student must submit the death certificate as an attachment to the application form to the relevant Department Head within three (3) working days from the exam date.

c) Traffic Accident and Unexpected Situations:
If a student, while traveling to the exam, is involved in a traffic accident that prevents them from arriving on time, they must submit the accident report obtained from the relevant traffic authority to the Department Head as an attachment to the application form within three (3) working days from the exam date.

ç) Detention or Arrest:
If a student is taken into custody or arrested for any reason, they must submit the official document obtained from the relevant law enforcement authority to the Department Head as an attachment to the application form by the end of the exam period.

d) Force Majeure:
In the event of a force majeure that prevents the student from attending the exam (such as fire, flood, earthquake, collapse, pandemic, etc.), the student is entitled to an excuse exam. The student must submit the official document obtained from the relevant authorities to the Department Head as an attachment to the application form within three (3) working days from the exam date.

e) Assignment by the University or Other Official Institutions:
If a student is officially assigned by the university or other official institutions due to national or international competitions, sports activities, etc., the student must submit the official document to the relevant Department Head as an attachment to the application form by the end of the exam period.

f) Exam Overlap:
In the event of an overlap between exams (make-up exams), the student is entitled to an excuse exam.
